Mercedes-Benz S400 4MATIC Coupe, new entry-level model

Mercedes-Benz has announced the launch of a new model within the range of its largest and most exclusive coupe, the S Coupe.
We are talking about the S400 4MATIC Coupe, which arrives to position itself as the entry point to the S Coupe range, keeping intact the elegance and class of this grand rolling lounge.
The S Coupe arrived a little over a year ago to replace what until now we all knew as the Mercedes CL. It has always been treated as “the S-Class in coupe form”, but from this generation onward it is also commercially named this way, simplifying the nomenclature.
A model that is proving to be a real sales hit thanks to a truly imposing design, very high quality standards and a petrol-only engine range with performance that takes your breath away even in the least powerful variant. Of course, it is an expensive vehicle, with prices in the six figures when you want to get your hands on one.

Until now, the S Coupe engine range was limited to two V8 engines (S500 and S63 AMG) and one V12 engine (S65 AMG), all petrol and all turbocharged. The entry-level version until now was the S500, offered in rear-wheel and all-wheel drive versions, with 455 CV from a 4.7 biturbo.
Now, the range is completed with the S400 4MATIC Coupe, the least powerful version in the range and the only one so far powered by a V6 engine. It is a 3.0 V6 powertrain delivering 367 CV, of course paired with a 7-speed automatic gearbox. Although it is almost 100 CV less powerful than the S500, it manages to match its 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time, completing the sprint in just 4.6 seconds. This version also becomes the most affordable of the lineup, with a starting price of 99,960€.
