Mercedes-Benz sets prices for the new Mercedes-Benz CLS models

Seven years ago, at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the first prototype of its new CLS-Class, with an initial engine range running from 272 CV up to the 476 CV of the most powerful version, the CLS 55 AMG. The new model from the German brand combined for the first time sporting elegance of a coupé with the comfort and practicality of a saloon.
Now, with the CLS well established on the market, the new version, which will be shown for the first time at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, follows the lines of its predecessor with a long bonnet and a steeply raked, heavily curved rear window, but at the same time introduces clear innovative elements such as a new front end that recalls the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and LED headlights, which make the CLS the first vehicle in the world to use LED technology for all dynamic lighting functions.
From January 2011, the new CLS versions will be available with V6 engines, for both petrol and diesel models, but customers will have to wait until April for the CLS 250 CDI, which features the innovative 7G-TRONIC automatic gearbox and the ECO start-stop function.
