It is now a tangible reality. After months of waiting, Mercedes-Benz has officially launched the new body style of the CLA. We are talking about the CLA Shooting Brake, one of the most distinctive vehicles on the market.

The CLA Shooting Brake also comes topped by the version signed by AMG, which in this case will be called CLA 45 AMG Shooting Brake. Without a doubt, it is a name that is, to say the least, rather “grandiloquent”…

The exterior design of the CLA Shooting Brake is very similar to that already seen on the CLS Shooting Brake, especially if we continue the CLS-CLA analogy that we already noticed in the successive saloon versions. The CLA Shooting Brake stands out, however, as a unique alternative within its segment, with rivals such as the Audi A3 Sedan.

The lines that form the body of the CLA Shooting Brake reveal a striking image, capable of drawing attention wherever it goes. The regular CLA is already a magnet for stares, but the Shooting Brake version takes the crown thanks to those original lines that make it a true head-turner.
The roofline stands out a great deal, sloping gently until it merges with the boot lid, while the side waistline is somewhat lower than usual, improving visibility by enlarging the glazed area.

Inside, the atmosphere is essentially the same as in any CLA, with the difference that the space in the second row benefits from the new body configuration. The boot also grows, now offering a capacity of 495 litres, 25 litres more than the saloon version.

The engines of the new CLA Shooting Brake are exactly the same as those of the conventional CLA, which means a power range running from 122 CV up to 360 CV. In petrol versions there are the CLA 180, CLA 200, CLA 250 and CLA 45 AMG, while in diesel there are two alternatives, the CLA 200 CDI and the CLA 220 CDI.
The first deliveries are scheduled for March 2015.
