Mercedes Clase X by Carlex Design: the definitive pick-up for bicycle lovers
From Carlex Design, specialists in pick-up conversions, comes this proposal for the Clase X by Mercedes, a dream for cycling and adventure enthusiasts.
Due to their special characteristics, pick-up vehicles have a special appeal for lovers of adventure and outdoor sports. And of all the ones we have driven recently, one of those we liked most is the Mercedes Clase X. Here you can read the road test of the Mercedes-Benz X 350d.
Undoubtedly, the announced end of production of this model at the Nissan plant in Barcelona was not good news. That is why proposals such as those from Carlex Design, a specialist in preparing vehicles of this type, become an even more aspirational dream.

All of Carlex Design’s preparations of the Clase X are impressive. But their latest project is, without doubt, one of the most spectacular… and also one of the most expensive.
A pick-up with bike rack and trailer
Its look suggests more of a track-day “truck” than a leisure 4×4. And not only because of the bodywork finish, which very aggressively combines red with black and white. The widened wheel arches, the darkened grille, the carbon fibre trim, the wheels with the brand logo… the atmosphere is very “racing”.
But what will delight bicycle enthusiasts is the best bike rack system you could imagine, with a support that rises electrically so as not to compromise the load capacity of the bed.

In addition, Carlex Design has developed a dedicated trailer that will not only serve for changing clothes: inside it includes up to four beds, a bathroom and a small kitchen. The price? There is no official data on this. But to give you an idea: the bicycle rack alone costs around 5,000 euros!
