Midnight Edition: is the next special edition of the Nissan Qashqai?

Nissan has expanded the equipment offering of its model range in North America with the new Midnight Edition package. This kit will be presented at the Chicago Auto Show between February 11 and 20. The Midnight Edition package will be available on the following models: Maxima SR, Sentra, Altima, Rogue, Murano and Pathfinder.
This design package offers four exterior color options: white, black, grey and red. All models that incorporate the kit will feature black wheels; what varies by trim is the wheel size itself: 17 inches for the Nissan Sentra SR and the Nissan Rogue, 18 inches on the Altima SR, 19 inches for the Maxima SR and 20 inches on the Nissan Murano and Pathfinder.

Depending on the model, the Midnight Edition version ranges from 490 to 1,195 dollars. The equipment package also stands out for its black-finished details, including the mirror caps, the rear spoiler, the roof rails and, on the SUVs, the rear, side and front plastic protectors.
Although the finish level of this special edition is similar across each model, its price does vary by trim. The Midnight Edition package costs 490 dollars on the Nissan Sentra SR, while the price of the Nissan Rogue in this special edition amounts to 990 dollars. For the Nissan Maxima, Murano and Pathfinder the cost of the package is the same: 1,195 dollars. The Midnight edition is already on sale in the North American market for all the models mentioned above, except for the Nissan Rogue Midnight Edition, which will not be available until next March.

The Midnight Edition package was already available previously on the Nissan Maxima SR. The success of the package on that model has led the brand to apply it to other models. “The idea of expanding the availability of the Midnight Edition package was driven by customers who loved the dark treatment on the Maxima SR. They themselves were the ones who asked for it to be available on other popular Nissan vehicles. The six models offering the Midnight Edition packages account for more than 75 percent of our sales in the United States, so we think they will find a receptive audience,” says the vice president of marketing and sales of Nissan in North America and Canada.
It remains to be seen whether in the near future Nissan will offer the Midnight Edition package in Europe, especially on models with the pulling power of the Qashqai, Juke or X-Trail.
