MINI is heading to the Shanghai Motor Show with several new models with which it hopes to win over China

The Shanghai Motor Show is ready to open, and in a few days we will be able to see the novelties that brands are preparing for the Asian market… and the novelties that may reach the European market in the coming months. One of the brands that will be present at this event will be MINI, which wants to show the Chinese public its latest novelties and the products it will offer in this important market.

One of the spaces the brand operating under the umbrella of BMW will present is the one dedicated to John Cooper Works, the brand’s high-performance vehicle division. In a space decorated in red, MINI will present a journey through the sporting DNA of its range, with several classic vehicles that fall within this sub-brand and the new models proposed for it.

In this space, a classic MINI will be shown, a veteran of the legendary Monte Carlo Rally, along with the MINI John Cooper Works PRO, which finished first in its class at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring last year. But the classics will not be the only ones we will find at this event.

The new MINI John Cooper Works models in Shanghai

MINI will present the first two models created for John Cooper Works. The MINI John Cooper Works Electric and the MINI John Cooper Works Aceman, two high-performance electric models that stand out in their segment.

The MINI John Cooper Works Aceman not only offers a high-performance electric motor that delivers a good driving experience, but also offers quite an interesting amount of space. The brand’s strategy seeks to maximise interior space within the possibilities offered by its compact size.

The MINI John Cooper Works Aceman offers a top speed of 200 km/h and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. At the exhibition, attendees will be able to feel the excitement of driving with the MINI Experience Modes on the model on display. The John Cooper Works Mode delivers the sporty sensations sought by the most dynamic sub-brand in the range.

Other models on display

Another of the models we will find in Shanghai is the MINI JCW Countryman ALL, which will be present in British Racing Green. This car recalls the brand’s history and features a very attractive interior. It offers very generous legroom in the rear seats, which helps passengers enjoy every journey more. The boot also surprises with its capacity, for a sporty model.

To round off MINI’s offering in Shanghai, the MINI Cooper Cabrio can be seen, a four-seater convertible making its debut in the Chinese market. In this case, it is equipped with a four-cylinder petrol engine and offers a practical and appealing convertible roof for the experience of driving in the open air.

A unit of the new MINI JCW Lifestyle Collection and a MINI JCW Countryman All4 complete the vehicles on display at the Shanghai Motor Show and will allow visitors to see what the Chinese market can expect from the British brand.
