The Mitsubishi Outlander offers a hybrid version, which has become a fairly popular model within the range, but the manufacturer wants to boost its presence in the market, and this is being achieved by equipping the car with more technology to make it more attractive. Among the new technologies found in the car are new driver assistance systems, improved connectivity and a new way of managing how the model operates in fully electric mode.

So what this facelift of the model brings is a different way of charging the battery, which is more efficient and faster. When it comes to managing the electrical charge and how it is delivered to the motors, this has also been improved, so it is much more efficient than in previous versions.

The infotainment and connectivity system has also been reworked, with Smartphone Link Display offering connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This appears to be the standard that is taking hold, and all manufacturers want these systems to improve the connection between the car’s occupants and the cloud thanks to the mobile phones we all carry. In addition, connectivity has been improved thanks to Bluetooth, making it easier to connect your phone.

The improvement is not limited to connectivity technology, but extends to other aspects of the model. These include the fitting of heated seats, control of the two-zone climate control and the ability to activate remote heating via your mobile phone, thanks to the Mitsubishi PHEV app.

When it comes to driver assistance systems, the automatic brake hold system has been added, which allows the driver to release the pedal while driving or when parking on a hill, to improve control of the vehicle. The new electric driving mode is now called EV Priority Mode, which keeps the 2.0-litre petrol engine switched off while the battery has enough charge to provide electric traction.
