Mitsubishi unveils the Outlander PHEV Concept-S; ready for Paris

Mitsubishi has unveiled the look of the Outlander PHEV Concept-S, a new take on the largest SUV in the Japanese brand’s lineup.
The manufacturer had already previewed this model’s design a few days earlier through a series of teasers that hinted at a highly attractive styling. Its presentation is scheduled for the Paris Motor Show.
This redesign of the Outlander aims to refresh and refine the look of the Mitsu, so the features of this prototype may well carry over to the production versions of the current Outlander in the near future.
In that case, we would be talking about a significantly reworked front end, featuring a large central grille with the three-diamond logo in a big size. The headlights also stand out, as they adopt a completely new design, far more attractive than the current one. Their LED technology reinforces the image of a technologically advanced vehicle that Mitsubishi wants to offer with this Outlander PHEV Concept-S.
In addition, two large chrome moldings join the upper and lower parts of the bumper, forming a sort of “X”. This shape may become one of the identity hallmarks of the upcoming Mitsubishi models. On this particular model, the alloy wheels also feature a new design specific to this concept.

Inside, the changes are not as evident, limited to new upholstery in a reddish hue, a tone that also extends to the lower part of the dashboard. The upper section is covered in black leather, which adds a touch of class and distinction to the Outlander. In addition, a set of dark wood trim is also introduced, while the front console features a glossy black finish that is very eye-catching.
As its name suggests, the Outlander is propelled by the hybrid powertrain that has been delivering such good results for the Japanese manufacturer. It combines a 2.0 MIVEC engine with an electric motor, powered by lithium-ion batteries of 12 kWh.
