New 130 CV E-THP engine for the Citroën C4

Citroën is introducing a new engine into the Citroën C4 range. It is a next-generation turbocharged unit with just three cylinders, called E-THP, producing 130 CV.
The Citroën C4 with this E-THP turbo engine complies with the Euro 6 emissions standard and features Start&Stop, achieving lower consumption and CO2 emissions of 114 g/km, with an average consumption of 4.9 litres per 100 km.

This 1.2 E-THP 130 CV shares its architecture with the naturally aspirated 1.2 82 CV, both three-cylinder units. However, it adds a turbocharger, direct injection and variable valve timing to reach 130 CV at 5,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, rather than the five-speed unit fitted to the 82 CV version, which will undoubtedly also help achieve such a low consumption figure.
