New Audi A1 Sportback: now on sale from less than €22,000

The new Audi A1 goes on sale in Spain with a 1.0 TFSI three-cylinder engine producing 116 CV.

The second generation of the Audi A1 Sportback is now open for orders in the Spanish market. The Audi subcompact stands out for its dynamic design and sporty character, as well as for its improved technology and safety equipment compared with its predecessor. The entry-level A1 version, the Sportback 30 TFSI with 116 CV, is priced at €21,940. Over the coming weeks, Audi will launch the rest of the TFSI engine range, with outputs between 95 CV and 200 CV.

A1 Sportback 30 TFSI: the launch version

The sporty compact is initially available with an efficient 1.0 TFSI three-cylinder engine producing 116 CV. With this engine, the A1 Sportback 30 TFSI accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds (9.4 s with the S tronic automatic gearbox). The official combined consumption of this version under the WLTP cycle is 4.8 l/100 km.

The new TFSI engines coming to the new Audi A1

The engine range will be completed over the coming weeks with the following units:

• 1.0 TFSI with 95 CV
• 1.5 TFSI with 150 CV
• 2.0 TFSI with 200 CV

Both 1.0 TFSI versions have three cylinders, while the 1.5 and 2-litre engines have four cylinders; all feature direct injection, turbocharger boost and a particulate filter.

Good standard equipment: improved technology and active safety

The new Audi A1 Sportback offers a comprehensive range of technology and safety equipment. The subcompact includes as standard a digital instrument cluster with a 10.25-inch screen, a leather multifunction steering wheel, the front collision assist (Audi pre sense front), lane departure warning (Audi lane departure warning), a speed limiter, MMI radio system with Bluetooth and 15-inch alloy wheels.

Trim levels: base, Advanced, S Line, Black Line

The new Audi A1 Sportback is available in several trim levels. With the Advanced line, the A1 Sportback features 16-inch alloy wheels, an MMI plus radio with a 22.3 cm (8.8-inch) touchscreen, Audi smartphone interface, the remote services included in the Audi connect safety & service package, and a contrasting-colour roof.

The S line trim includes the S line exterior package, a sport suspension, an S line roof spoiler, aluminium trim and 17-inch wheels. All the equipment of the Advanced line is also offered in this S Line trim.

Finally, the Black line trim differs from the S line through its black styling package, darkened rear windows, black Mythos Black door mirrors and 17-inch Audi Sport wheels.
