New diesel engines for the Meriva at Paris, plus the Corsa/Agila with Start/Stop

Opel will be heading to the Paris Motor Show with three new EcoFLEX engines for the Meriva, namely the new version of the 1.3-litre, the 1.7 and the 2-litre CDTi. All of them will combine more power with lower fuel consumption.
In the case of the 95 hp 1.3 CDTi, for example, the smallest diesel engine has gained 21% more power than the previous version, as well as 11.2% fewer polluting emissions.
The 1.7-litre engine will come in two new versions of 130 and 110 hp, fitted with a particulate filter and meeting the Euro V emissions standard. As for the two-litre diesel, the new variant will be presented in the Insignia EcoFLEX.
Another of the brand’s moves aimed at lower consumption is the introduction of the Start/Stop system for the Corsa and Agila, equipped with the new 1.3 diesels. The use of Start/Stop will become standard across all of the brand’s models by the end of 2011, according to reports.
