New Honda Prelude Concept: the preview of a historic comeback
The legendary Honda Prelude will become a reality again after more than 20 years out of production

Right now, the Japan Mobility Show 2023 is taking place, where many brands, especially Japanese ones, are showcasing their major new releases for the coming years. Toyota, Nissan and Infinity have shown us highly attractive models, but few of them as exciting as the star of this article.
Far from SUVs, pick-ups, off-roaders and other variants, Honda has brought back its Prelude, a coupe that debuted in its first generation in 1979 based on the Accord, and went through no fewer than five generations until it was finally discontinued in 2001.
A 100% electric sports coupe
Now, 22 years after the farewell to this iconic model, Honda has just presented a concept version that previews the return of this coupe, featuring a design that will probably be very faithful to the production model, with 100% electric technology as the main feature.

With a look that follows the same styling line as the brand’s latest releases and that also recalls other competitor models such as the latest Toyota Prius or the GR 86, the new Honda Prelude Concept features a look of clean, fluid shapes, a sharp and very sporty front end, a roofline that slopes down to a sporty rear spoiler, and sporty black alloy wheels with a powerful braking system behind them.
Less GT than its predecessor
The aerodynamic design is one of the features that most catches the eye of this new Prelude, since although it shows a sporty and muscular presence, it has smooth lines and elements such as door handles flush with the bodywork, sharp wing mirrors and a roof with a small indentation in its central part.
Although almost all the technical details such as its dimensions, the output of its engine and battery, and the official launch date are still unknown, we can only wait for the brand to reveal more details about this unexpected but thrilling launch, fueling expectations and curiosity about what this legendary model could offer in its new incarnation.
