New Jeep J8 for Germany

Jeep has just unveiled, initially for the German market, a new model based on a long-wheelbase Wrangler Unlimited called J8. With a look inherited from the legendary Willys, the J8 offers a more rudimentary, rural take on the smallest of the Jeep range, available in both two-door and four-door versions.
The J8 is built at a plant in Egypt together with a local company, and it is distinguished from the Wrangler by its bumpers, wheels, wheel arches and a raised suspension that improves its off-road capability. It has also been modified so that it can carry up to 1,250 kilos of payload.
It will only be offered with the 158 hp 2.8 CRD engine that it shares with other models in the Chrysler group, and paired with a 5-speed automatic gearbox.
