New Mercedes-Benz Sprinter: the camper of your dreams
Mercedes-Benz has launched a new international campaign demonstrating the potential of the third generation Mercedes-Benz Sprinter as a camper.
The camper van craze has grown over recent years, so more and more brands are using their commercial models to turn them into small homes on wheels. There are campers of every class, size and equipment level, so that staying in them doesn’t make us miss our own home. If you want to delve deeper into the subject, don’t hesitate to read our feature to find out what types of motorhomes exist.
Mercedes-Benz is a true expert at building these vehicles, as proven by the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo, which we tested a few months ago. This camper, based on the V-Class, with all due respect to the Volkswagen Grand California, is the queen of the segment.
The star brand began this month with an international advertising campaign to promote the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Camper: “The new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter for camper use is here.”
The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is an ideal platform for a camper
What’s interesting is that, for the first time, the Stuttgart company has developed a new marketing strategy focused solely on camper vans. For this reason, the German giant has posted two videos on its digital platforms showing the potential of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter as a camper van.
Marion Frese, the company’s Head of Marketing for commercial vehicles, stated: “Whether you’re planning a holiday with friends or a quick trip to the mountains with friends, travelling in a camper is extremely fun for everyone.”
“The camper market is booming, so we want to play an important role in developing the third-generation Mercedes-Benz Sprinter so that it meets all the requirements to become the best camper. The camper spirit of our Sprinter will be the protagonist of a specific advertising campaign that will mainly serve digital communication channels. Our goal here is clear: to show that with our model you’ll feel like you’ve arrived the moment you get in.”
The camper Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, star of the campaign
This new marketing campaign puts the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter at its centre to demonstrate its tremendous potential for camper conversion. To do so, two spots have been created, inspired by the everyday situations we all experience just before closing the front door to leave on holiday.
Are we there yet?
They say “when you become a parent, you’ll eat eggs,” but the reality is that once you have a child, they will ask “How much longer?” every ten minutes, whether the journey is 15 minutes or 7 hours.
In this video, it’s the family’s daughter (a bit of a teenager by now, it must be said) who asks the question just before leaving the house. However, on this occasion, the father has an ace up his sleeve: as he looks at his shiny Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Camper, he replies: we’ve already arrived.

Call me when you get there
Another very typical situation, after we’ve spent a few days with our parents and return to harsh reality, is when they tell us: “Call us when you get there.” In this video, the funny part is that the daughter calls her mother as soon as she gets into the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Camper. She’s right, because a trip in these wheeled apartments really must feel like having already arrived home.
