New photos of the Opel Mokka

The Opel Mokka appears in new images supplied by Opel, showing the model that will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show.

The crossover craze shows no sign of slowing, and the Opel Mokka is one of the upcoming models that will follow this trend. The Opel Mokka (Buick Encore for Americans) will take on rivals of the calibre of the Nissan Juke, no less, with the Japanese brand’s experience of having first unveiled a model of this type, the Qashqai.

We now have new images of the model, which Opel has sent us. Based on the Chevrolet Aveo platform, it is a vehicle that combines compact dimensions with a sporty touch and a striking, innovative design that will set it apart from its rivals on the market, which are somewhat more discreet and less eye-catching, such as the Juke.

Available with all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive, a substantial load capacity and seating for five adults, the Mokka will come with engines of 1.6 litres and 115 hp, a 1.4 turbo with 140 hp (both petrol) and a 1.7 CDTI diesel with 130 hp. It will feature systems that make off-road driving easier, such as Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Hill Descent Control (HDC), all combined with a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
