New range of BMW M Performance components
The range of components includes both aesthetic elements and parts that optimise the dynamics and performance of the vehicles of the German brand.
BMW presented its new M Performance component range at SEMA 2016 in Las Vegas. The new accessories will be available in both the European and American markets. BMW’s most sporty range of accessories includes elements that are both aesthetic and designed to optimise the dynamics and performance of the vehicles.
From an aerodynamic standpoint, the BMW M3 will receive a new carbon fibre rear spoiler accented with “racing” stripes. It will go on sale in mid-2017.

The alloy wheels have been the most redesigned component in the range. They will measure 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, with an optimised weight that contributes to better cornering behaviour and aerodynamic gains. They are finished in matt black with an “M Performance” inscription on the sidewall and will be available for the BMW M2, M3 and M4 from summer 2017.

Both the BMW M3 and M4 will receive a new sport suspension with red springs. This M Performance suspension lowers the car’s ride height by between 5 and 20 millimetres, thereby lowering the centre of gravity and improving the vehicle’s overall stability.
The M Performance power and sound kit, which was already available in Germany, has been presented at SEMA 2016 in Las Vegas. This package is available for the BMW 340i and 440i. It includes modified engine management software as well as a higher-flow exhaust valve. These upgrades increase the output of the three-litre, six-cylinder inline Twin Turbo engine by 35 CV and 39 Nm of torque. The result in performance terms is an acceleration time 0.2 seconds faster. In terms of sound, the performance gains also translate into a more robust and sporty engine note.

The M Performance packages, which group together a series of aerodynamic and performance components, have also been presented. By purchasing these kits, savings of up to 14% can be made compared with the price of each element bought separately. These packages are available for the 2 Series Coupe, 3 Series saloon, 4 Series, 7 Series and the M2, M3 and M4. These packages include components such as the front grille, carbon fibre rear spoiler or mirrors, M Performance alloy wheels or the exhaust system.

Finally, BMW Performance has unveiled a range of aesthetic accessories finished in carbon fibre. Among them, the engine cover, gear selector, handbrake or the M Performance steering wheel combining carbon and Alcantara stand out.
