New Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo: the sportiest version of the new SUV arrives
The new Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show with a sportier character.
It has become a tradition for Skoda to offer a sporty trim level for every model in its range, and the new Skoda Kamiq was not going to be the exception. The new city SUV from the Czech brand therefore welcomes the new Monte Carlo trim to its line-up to add a touch of spice. The new Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo is the second SUV from the Czech manufacturer to carry the Monte Carlo name, the pioneer being the quirky and now discontinued Skoda Yeti.
This version will be launched alongside the Skoda Scala Monte Carlo at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which will take place between 12 and 22 September. This trim level will be available across the full range of engines and deliveries will begin at the end of the year. Its pricing is sure to be attractive, since the prices of the Skoda Kamiq clearly place it among the best-selling SUVs.
The Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo gains appeal
The Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo features several distinctive elements that reference the brand’s successful history in rallying. It also stands out as a very complete trim level.
To begin with, in terms of styling, glossy black takes centre stage. This colour appears on elements such as the grille, some details on the front bumper, the mirror housings, the roof rails, the side sills and the Skoda lettering in the centre of the tailgate.
In addition, the Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo comes as standard with 17-inch wheels, although 18-inch wheels are available as an option. It also features elements such as tinted windows and a panoramic sunroof. To top it off, the rear has a diffuser in the same colour as the other body details, and Full-LED rear lights.
A cabin with many specific details
The interior also includes elements that reinforce the sporty character of the new Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo. As you open the door to enter the cabin, the first thing that catches your eye is the sport seats with adjustable, integrated headrests.
The multifunction steering wheel is trimmed in perforated leather, and the stitching is red, as is the gear lever gaiter and the handbrake lever. The ambient LED lighting is red and illuminates the centre console, the door compartments, the door handles and the footwell area.
The trim and instrument panel also have a specific design, the air-conditioning vents have a chrome finish and the pedals are metallic. The floor mats have also been created for this version, as well as the Kamiq inscription on the door sills and the roof lining.
Oliver Stefani, Head of Design at Skoda, stated: “The new Skoda Kamiq is a typical Skoda SUV that develops its own personality through design elements such as the split headlights. The black Monte Carlo elements accentuate its independent character and make it even more appealing to younger buyers. What we have here is a perfect combination of sporty design that references our successful rally cars and the everyday functionality of an intelligent city SUV.”
