New spy photo of the Range Rover 2012
Although there is still practically a year before it is officially unveiled, Range Rover is preparing its new car in the harsh cold so that it can withstand the worst conditions, as we can see in the images. In these images we can also see the interior, but it seems they have not yet “laid a hand” on this area of the car.
Among many other things, they are testing new driver assistance and support systems in extreme conditions, such as Terrain-i Response, the evolution of Terrain Response, which identifies potential hazards on the road.
The new range has been put through a truly serious “regime”. They will use new components and materials for the construction of the car that could reduce the weight of the vehicle by up to 500 kg, from 2,600 and 2,800 kg (depending on the engine) to 2,100 and 2,300 kg respectively.
The new aluminium platform will allow improvements in aspects such as fuel consumption and emissions reduction, as well as offering more comfort when driving, as it is a much lighter car.
All these innovations being carried out on the Range Rover will gradually be added to the rest of the models in the range in the coming years.
