Nissan confirms GT-R replacement in 2013

The Japanese manufacturer has reported that its most representative sports car of recent years will be replaced by a new high-performance car that will possibly be known as R36.
According to Andy Palmer, Vice President of Global Planning, the economic situation experienced for a couple of years now has led to some cuts in several of the company’s projects; however, it is important that the manufacturer is able to offer a wide range of options to users, which is why they are proud to move forward with developing new products.
It is also indicated that the new generation of the R35 will be an evolution of its current platform, so we will probably see some mechanical features again, such as the Twin Turbo heart or the transmission system.
Thanks to this last piece of information, we can state that the Japanese company will not make a large investment in the new sports car, as it will focus its efforts on refining details each year.
Furthermore, according to statements from some members of the development team, this will allow the GT-R to maintain a significant place in customers’ preferences.
