Nissan Qashqai, renewed to keep competing in the crossover segment
Nissan renews its best-selling crossover. The Nissan Qashqai arrives with a fresher, more contemporary look to face the tough rivals in its segment.
All-new Nissan Qashqai
The all-new Nissan Qashqai brings significant improvements, focused above all on a more contemporary exterior design, higher levels of interior quality, more technology and better driving performance. In this way, the Japanese brand intends to keep the Qashqai a benchmark in the crossover segment, since a total of 214,000 units of the Qashqai have been sold in Spain over these 10 years.
Its renewed look is evident from its exterior, which is much fresher and more current. The front end, more aggressive, has a new design and features the new “V-motion” grille of Nissan for the Qashqai. It incorporates a new version of the daytime running lights in a boomerang shape. It also features redesigned front optics and a more distinctive style between the halogen and LED headlights. Its studied and improved aerodynamics make the lines flow harmoniously across the entire bodywork, all the way to the rear, which has also been redesigned. The all-new Qashqai features new 17″, 18″ and 19″ alloy wheels, all aerodynamically improved to maximise efficiency. To complete the look, two new colours are added to these elements: Vivid Blue and Chestnut Bronze.
Inside, the standout feature is a spacious and versatile cabin, using higher-quality materials. It also debuts a new trim level, Tekna+, which will be the top of the range and includes new enveloping seats upholstered in high-quality soft Nappa leather with soft 3D-embossed stitching on the central panels. The multifunction sports steering wheel, flat-bottomed, a novelty on the renewed Qashqai, features a four-position control to configure the instrument panel display, which makes for more intuitive use and allows drivers to take their eyes off the road for less time.
Interior of the All-new Nissan Qashqai
Infotainment systems play an important role in the equipment of the new Qashqai. It features NissanConnect, which includes satellite navigation, and now also has a new, smarter user interface. The new BOSE premium seven-speaker audio system is available as an option on the higher-equipment variants in the range.
For greater comfort, better driving performance and a safer experience at the controls of the new Qashqai, modifications have been made to the suspension, the dampers and the steering. It maintains its drag coefficient of 0.31 and remains the segment leader in CO2 emissions, with just 99 g/km for the 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine with 110 CV of power.
For active and passive safety, the new Qashqai features the intelligent front collision prevention system which has been improved with the addition of pedestrian detection. The rear traffic alert system, designed to reduce the risk of low-speed collisions when reversing out of a parking space, is available on the Qashqai for the first time. It still includes the traffic sign recognition, driver fatigue detection, intelligent parking assist, intelligent 360º around-view camera, blind spot control and unintended lane change warning.
The new Nissan Qashqai has everything it needs to remain a best-seller in the crossover segment and to continue being a major success for the Japanese brand.
