Nissan Silvia/240SX: rumors of its return intensify

Nissan is developing its own compact sports car to compete head-to-head with the Toyota GT86 and Subaru BRZ. The truth is that we already knew this a couple of months ago, although now we have some more details about the project to bring back the Nissan 240SX, also known as the Silvia in its day.
It seems the Japanese brand has picked up the pace and is finalizing the details to bring this sports car to life, based on the 370Z platform, possibly with four-cylinder turbo engines. According to the same reports, Nissan would be working with two different engines: one based on the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine from the Juke, and the other would be the 1.8 engine supplied by Mercedes-Benz, which powers the C180, although with less power than desired, as it does not exceed 200 horsepower
Of these engines, we would be talking about the one from the Nissan Juke, which could comfortably surpass the 200-horsepower barrier, a considerable amount of power, given that the GT86 currently delivers about 200 horsepower and the Subaru BRZ a similar figure.
Nissan’s plans for the new Silvia are almost confirmed through certain leaks and images of the new engine they are developing. Those images are not available at the moment, but you can see an illustration of what the Nissan design would approximately look like aesthetically for the new Silvia generation, an image you have before you.
