Octavia's new range and prices: unbeatable
The new Skoda Octavia is already on the brand’s configurator, so we already know its prices, and we can tell you in advance that it is one of the best options on the market
At the end of last year we got to know the fourth generation of the Skoda Octavia, one of the brand’s fundamental pillars, which has been updated in every respect to remain one of the smartest purchases on the market.
To stay true to its origins, the new Skoda Octavia comes in two body styles: saloon and Combi. However, in this new version the dimensions have increased compared with the previous one, so it offers greater interior space and a boot that puts it at the head of its rivals.
It is not only more practical, the aesthetic update has also been significant, so we have a model that catches the eye. Moreover, the technological content is more powerful, so it incorporates some features already found on some of its siblings in the Volkswagen Group, such as the digital cockpit.
Electrification arrives on the new Skoda Octavia
However, the most important thing is that the new Skoda Octavia will incorporate eco-friendly versions beyond the CNG G-TEC versions that the previous generation already had -don’t miss the list of gas-powered cars on sale in Spain-.
The new generation of the brand’s Czech compact saloon adds electrification to its range for the first time. As a result, the range will include the Skoda Octavia iV, the smaller sibling of the Skoda Superb iV.
This will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain combining a 1.4-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, which together will produce 204 CV and 350 Nm of torque. In addition, thanks to its 13 kWh battery pack, it will have a electric range of 55 kilometres, a figure sufficient to obtain the benefits of the DGT Label 0.
The Skoda Octavia is already on the brand’s configurator
The main news we bring you today is that the manufacturer has already added the new model to its configurator, so we now have the first prices for the new Skoda Octavia. We say first because the offer available so far is still quite limited, covering just three engines and two trim levels.
For the moment, therefore, only one petrol engine is listed -the 1.5 TSI with 150 CV paired with a six-speed manual gearbox- and two diesels -the 2.0 TDI with 116 CV and manual gearbox, and the 2.0 TDI with 150 CV and DSG automatic gearbox-.
A very complete standard equipment list
On the other hand, two trim levels are available: Ambition and Style. So we are going to reveal the most notable standard equipment in each case:
The entry-level trim of the range is the Ambition which, despite being the most basic, already comes with a fairly generous standard specification. It includes features such as 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, multifunction leather steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
There are also safety features such as hill start assist, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control with speed limiter, fatigue detector and front assist with emergency braking function.
If you opt for the Style, you add features such as 17-inch alloy wheels, Matrix Full LED headlights, a 10-inch navigation system, rear parking camera and ambient lighting.
Therefore, the standard equipment of the new Skoda Octavia is really complete in both versions available so far. Moreover, the most interesting thing is that the brand offers a launch discount of up to 6,000 euros, so the new Skoda Octavia will be available from a bargain price of 20,650 euros.
