Pal-V: the flying car is approaching
The Pal-V will be presented as the first flying car, after it was confirmed it will go into production with 90 units
All flying car projects end up as mere ideas; however, the Dutch company has unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show the production model of the Pal-V, which will go on sale this year, 2019.
Although its origins date back 15 years, the Pal-V still retains the same design, but with some additional adjustments incorporated over time that have modernised its look.
Pal-V: three wheels for two engines
This three-wheeler has two Rotax engines and, in a 5-minute process where the tail section is extracted and a pair of rotor blades are deployed, along with 300 metres of runway, our Pal-V is ready to fly.
Likewise, regarding flight, both design and handling comply with the car and aircraft regulations in Europe and the United States, so it can be driven by anyone with a driving licence and lifted into the skies by anyone with a pilot’s licence.
The flying car can reach a top speed of 160 km/h on the ground, while in the air it can reach 180 km/h with a range of 500 km and requires 30 metres to land.
Flying car details
Its interior, characterised by its two seats, is upholstered in bespoke leather and features a large instrument panel to control all ground and air functions.
Its bodywork, made of carbon fibre and finished in two tones, makes the Pal-V an exclusive model that only 90 lucky buyers will be able to obtain, at somewhat high prices.
The Pal-V already accepts reservations with an advance payment of 2,500 dollars and a final price of 321,000 euros. However, if you opt for a special version such as the Pioneer, the price can rise to 482,000 euros.
