Peugeot 308 CC 1.6 THP with 200 CV

If you have been in love with the 308 CC range from Peugeot but did not dare to buy one because you were not very convinced by its engine line-up, perhaps you will now change your mind, since Peugeot has finally decided to offer the 1.6 THP with 200 hp that the 308 GTI and the eye-catching RCZ already use.
Focusing on the engine, according to Peugeot this model is capable of delivering a maximum output of 200 hp between 5,500 and 6,800 rpm, while offering a peak torque of 275 Nm between 1,700 and 4,500 rpm, all sent to the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.

Equipped with this engine, the 308 CC can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds, which is really worth noting, as it is more than a second quicker than the old 156 hp THP, or it can reach a top speed of 240 km/h. According to Peugeot, the 308 CC 1.6 THP is able to guarantee consumption of 7.0 litres/100 km.
Looking at the press release issued by Peugeot, it seems this model does not change structurally in the slightest compared with the old THP, except for larger front-axle brake discs and 18-inch alloy wheels fitted as standard on 225/40 R18 tyres.
Finally, we come to the price, which is very important since it will reach our market at a cost of 34,820 euros with the Feline trim as the only option. On the plus side, apart from the Volkswagen Eos, whose price is somewhat higher, none of its rivals offers an engine with this much power in its range.
