The winner of the “Car Of The Year 2014” award, the Peugeot 308, is enjoying real success in the compact segment. A more cheerful design and a noticeable improvement in the quality of the interior materials are the 308’s strong points.
Since it was launched last autumn, the Peugeot 308 has already amassed close to 60,000 orders, which has forced the French brand to increase production of the compact model at the Sochaux plant.
As a result, production of the Peugeot 308 will increase from 2 June by 180 units per day, which means producing no fewer than 26 vehicles per hour and a total of 1,563 units made every day. With the introduction of the night shift, 600 new jobs will be created and 450 temporary workers will be hired, as the remaining new positions will be filled by staff transferred internally.

Furthermore, we should bear in mind that in spring the new bodystyle presented at the Geneva Motor Show, the 308 SW, will arrive. A model with which Peugeot offers its customers extra interior space and a boot volume of around 660 litres.
