Peugeot Onyx Concept: new photos and hybrid diesel V8 engine
The Peugeot Onyx Concept will make its debut in Paris with a hybrid diesel V8 engine, while we show you a full gallery to ease the wait.

In recent hours we showed you the first previews of the Peugeot Onyx Concept, the supercar that the lion’s house will present “at home” at the Paris Motor Show. We now have more photos and more details about this concept, which threatens to steal all the attention at the show.
The key point is that the engine will not be the 1.6-litre one reported across the media, but a 3.7-litre hybrid HDi FAP diesel V8, with 600 horsepower available through a six-speed sequential gearbox. Energy storage via a KERS adds 80 extra horsepower to the engine, available to the driver at all times.
One of the most striking things about the Onyx’s interior is the use of a composite material made from recycled newspaper, compressed in such a way that it forms the dashboard. The French brand has called this material “newspaper wood”. Curious.
As you will see, the Onyx has no seats, but two spaces that we could describe as “cavities” for the driver and passenger, again a detail that won’t go unnoticed, along with the use of non-traditional materials.
Below you have a full high-resolution gallery of all the details you shouldn’t miss on the Onyx.
