With the recent presentation of the restyling of the Jeep Wrangler, Chrysler has finally decided to introduce a new engine: none other than the well-known 3.6-litre Pentastar V6, which has been enjoying great success, paired with a new five-speed automatic gearbox.

According to Mike Manley, President and CEO of Jeep: “Our new 3.6-litre V6 engine gives the Wrangler a completely new character, more refined and subtle on the road, offering a more powerful driving experience while also being efficient in terms of consumption and emissions”.

Specifically, until now this vehicle was offered with a 3.8-litre V6, a somewhat outdated engine compared to the new Pentastar V6, which delivers 285 hp and 353 Nm of maximum torque. That is 83 hp more than the old V6 engine, an extra dose of power that will effectively make the Wrangler a benchmark in its segment.

On the other hand, we must talk about the new five-speed automatic transmission, a new gearbox set to replace the four-speed unit of the 2011 model, and with which the 2012 Wrangler will be able to, among other things, accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds. Finally, once again, the Wrangler will be offered as a two-door and four-door body, as well as in four different trim levels: Sport, S Sport, Sahara and Rubicon.
