Polestar 2 revealed: it will have around 395 CV and 300 km of range

The Polestar 2 is getting closer every day, which is why the high-performance car division of Volvo has decided to show the first image of the model.

Conceived to be a four-door saloon full of style, the Polestar 2 will be a high-performance electric car that will compete directly against the Tesla Model 3. Not many details can be seen in the image revealed by the brand, but it does show that it will have a charging point at the rear and thin lines on its lights.

The Polestar 2 features a subtle rear window that blends perfectly with what appears to be a small boot. Part of the design of its bodywork can also be seen, which seems to be defined by a subtle character.

The manufacturer is keeping a great deal of secrecy to reveal nothing about the model; however, it has also confirmed in earlier statements that the Polestar 2 will feature an infotainment system based on Android.

The rumours that it will use Google Android HMI (Human Machine Interface) have not yet been confirmed; however, it appears that it will feature Google Assistant, which is very similar to Amazon’s “AI”, Alexa.

Although its technological details are interesting, especially in the current times, what matters most in a high-performance car is what lies under its bonnet, and in this respect it appears it will not disappoint.

The company has stated that the model will have around 395 CV and an electric range of about 300 kilometres.

As the company’s goal is to compete directly against the Tesla Model 3, it has been confirmed that its price will be very similar to that of the option offered by Elon Musk’s electric car company.

Bearing this in mind, we can place the price of the Polestar 2 at around 50,000€, a price that, based on its performance and technology, seems appropriate.

More details of the Polestar 2 will be revealed in the coming weeks. Volvo appears to be very interested in investing in the sports electric vehicle sector, so the Polestar 2 will undoubtedly generate great anticipation.
