Porsche 911-Powered Trike Troubled Waters

Don’t worry, this “Troubled Waters” three-wheeler, the work of Phoenix Trike Works, is not just another customized 911. Fortunately, it doesn’t go quite that far.
Phoenix Trike Works is an American company that has been dedicated to building these trikes since the sixties; father and son run it, and over all these years they seem to have built a great reputation for this kind of work. From what they say, all of them share something in common: nautical styling and good handling.
A woman from Palm Springs, California, commissioned this particular one. The only thing it shares with the Porsche 911 is its engine, a 2-litre 6-cylinder boxer with 5 speeds; a good choice, even if its place in all this is debatable.
For the paint she chose a theme of blues that mixes tribal strokes (that’s how it looks to me) with small shark designs, hence its name “Troubled Waters”. The front wheel measures 23″ while the rear ones are “only” 20″. But what stands out most is its width: they measure 457mm…
