Porsche presents the new 911 Carrera 4 and 4S

The obvious follow-up to the recent presentation of the facelifted Porsche 997 in its rear-wheel-drive versions are the respective and traditional all-wheel-drive versions, of which Porsche has released the first images.
As on previous occasions, the Carrera 4 and 4S are characterised by permanent all-wheel drive, which is visible from the outside through wider rear wheel arches than on the rear-wheel-drive models.
The engines are exactly the same as previously revealed, that is, the 3.6 with 345 CV for the Carrera 4 and the 3.8 with 385 CV for the Carrera 4S. Visually, there is one detail that Porsche brings back from the 996 Carrera 4S and inherits from the first 911s: the red stripe between the taillights, which makes the versions easier to tell apart from the outside.
The all-wheel-drive system is also renewed for the occasion and, instead of the old system, the new Carrera 4 features the Porsche Traction Management, which, to put it in perspective, is the same one found in the Turbo and which delivers excellent results.
To enjoy this update of the 911 without giving up a route with adverse weather, Porsche will put the Carrera 4 and 4S on sale in Europe in October.
