Porsche Track Precision App: the best digital trainer for the track
The free Porsche Track Precision app receives new features that turn it into the best virtual coach for those who drive their Porsche on the track.
Users of Porsche who take their cars out on track days have an additional “toy”: the free Porsche Track Precision app. Now, in its new evolution, this app receives a series of improvements that turn it into a true “virtual monitor”.
The first interesting novelty is that the app, available for the current generations of the Porsche 911 and the Porsche 718, no longer works only on smartphones, which forced users to use mounts to hold their mobile device as an auxiliary screen.

In addition, version 3.2 is now compatible with Apple CarPlay, and it can be operated directly on the vehicle’s screen through the Porsche Communication Management (PCM).
Data analysis and more than 300 circuits
Another improvement is the inclusion of 100 new preprogrammed circuits, so users can now choose from more than 300 circuits around the world. Of course, that number can be expanded with any personal recording the user wishes to make.
“Data analysis is essential in competition; it can be a decisive factor for victory. Porsche Track Precision allows drivers to improve their performance on the track and obtain graphs of their progress”. Jörg Bergmeister, Porsche ambassador
What Porsche Track Precision does is record and analyze data after a track session, evaluating in real time the speed, the lateral and longitudinal acceleration, the engine rotation speed and the force applied to the brake pedal. Connected via the PCM to different control units of the car, the data is compared with a reference lap, as well as with the best personal lap.

Among the many functions offered by the Porsche Track Precision app, the following stand out:
- Lap time recording on track using GPS data
- Direct lap time information and difference relative to the reference lap
- Analysis of videos recorded by cameras or the smartphone while driving
- Driving analysis, with the option to export videos
- Connection with the Apple Watch to start or stop recording, log heart rate while driving, or receive a vibration alert when records are beaten
- Option to share driving experiences on social networks
