Possible sale of Volvo and total shutdown of Mercury

Rumours about the sale of the Swedish brand Volvo have gained more traction, specifically due to the weak sales of its current models, despite having a good presence in Europe.
Ford’s efforts to make the brand profitable apparently reached their limit, and it would meet the same fate as Aston Martin, Jaguar and Land Rover, which went through a similar process.
As for Mercury, this brand was created as a rung between Ford and its luxury line Lincoln. However, the brand would be considered dead, since it has not launched new models for a long time and therefore generates no profit of any kind.
We imagine that Ford’s plans for the future are to focus on a few specific brands in order to improve the quality of its cars and compete with a good production rate.
