Provincial Traffic Offices will serve the public from the 25th
Given the evolving situation we are living in, characterised by an asymmetric and localised de-confinement, the reactivation of certain services included in Phase 2, to which the provinces authorised to do so will move from next Monday, 25 May, opens up the possibility for offices located in territories within this de-escalation stage to resume activities such as those carried out at the Provincial Traffic Offices.
This has been confirmed by the Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT), which, in an announcement, stated that its provincial facilities located in the areas included in Phase 2 will be open to the public.
Can I go to the JPT in my province?
Likewise, the DGT has clarified that, although it is advisable to carry out any procedure that can be completed online, the requirement to apply for a prior appointment in order to visit and be attended to at the Provincial Traffic Offices will remain in place.
The request for a prior appointment at the JPT must be made by telephone on 060 or online. As of today, online booking is not active due to the state of alarm.
According to DGT instructions, the following procedures will be mandatory once a prior appointment has been secured to attend the chosen office:
• Arrive at the Traffic Office 5 minutes before the appointment.
• Bring your identity document and the appointment confirmation.
• Wearing a face mask inside the office is mandatory.
• Follow the hygiene and health advice given at the offices and keep the safety distance.
• Entry to the offices with companions is prohibited, unless there is a justified reason.
Similarly, the DGT assures that the Provincial Traffic Offices have adapted their workplaces and implemented the safety and public health procedures established by the Ministry of Health to safeguard the safety of all citizens who visit the facilities.
