Renault Arkana, which rivals does it face?

The DFSK F5 and the Volkswagen Taigo have become two real alternatives to the Renault Arkana, what do you think?

Renault Arkana E Tech 21

The Renault Arkana is revolutionizing the coupé SUV segment and has already outsold its sibling, the Renault Kadjar. What does the Renault Arkana compete with? Are there alternatives to this attractive model at an affordable price? We present them to you.

The first coupé SUV from the diamond brand is generating a lot of interest. To give you an idea, the Renault Kadjar is very close to the registration volume of the very Renault Clio. It is worth mentioning that the new Arkana is only available with mild-hybrid or full hybrid powertrains. It stands out for its technological arsenal and its safety and connectivity equipment.

It measures 4.56 metres in length and offers a boot capacity of 513 litres. This can increase significantly if the rear seats are folded down. The Renault Arkana sits in the brand’s range between the Renault Kadjar and the Renault Koleos, and its starting price, without promotions, is around €28,900.

What does the Renault Arkana compete with?

As you have surely noticed, coupé SUVs are in fashion, so we are going to analyse the market to see whether we can find some rivals or alternatives to the Renault Arkana in terms of price and quality.

DFSK F5

The DFSK F5 is carving out a place in the hearts of Spanish drivers. This coupé SUV arrived at dealerships in 2020, measures 4.68 metres and belongs to the D segment. It has a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine of Mitsubishi origin, paired with a CVT automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive.

However, a bifuel version running on Liquefied Petroleum Gas is also available, which carries the ECO environmental label from the Directorate-General for Traffic. The price of this mainstream model starts, without discounts, at €32,150.

Volkswagen Taigo

The Volkswagen Taigo is another real alternative to the Renault Arkana. The German brand has bet on this formula, and it has become the first coupé SUV sold by Volkswagen in Europe. It is manufactured in Spain, specifically in Pamplona. This is because of its relationship with the Volkswagen Polo and the Volkswagen T-Cross. The three models share platform and mechanics.

It measures 4.26 metres in length and has a boot of 440 litres. It is only available with petrol engines and front-wheel drive. It does not offer any version with the ECO environmental label from the Directorate-General for Traffic. The starting price is around €25,500.
