Renault Scénic XMOD: the all-terrain Scénic makes its debut in Spain

One of the novelties at last year’s Geneva Motor Show, which had presented Renault, involved a rugged variant of the Scénic called XMOD. The model offered considerable ground clearance and more reinforced finishes and protections to withstand the rigours of off-road use. This version is now already available in our country, presented by the brand just a few days ago.

As we mentioned, the XMOD offers its customers greater ground clearance, but it also features reinforced bumpers and roof bars and, as a complement, the Extended Grip system, which works through a control on the centre console that allows the traction and stability control to be adjusted, making it easier to drive over difficult surfaces.

As for styling, the front of the Scénic XMOD also adopts the new identity that the Scenic adopted at the time, with a larger logo standing out. In addition to the XMOD’s more rugged appearance, the French brand has fitted 16-inch alloy wheels, longitudinal roof bars, hill start assist, brake assist and two-zone climate control, among other features. It also comes as standard with energy recovery during braking and a Stop&Start system.

Like the New Scénic and the New Grand Scénic, the XMOD will use the diesel engines Energy dCi 110 and Energy dCi 130. It will also feature the new Energy TCe 130 petrol engine, with outputs of 116 and 130 CV, modified and improved to offer fuel consumption 15% lower than the previous generation of the TCe 130. All versions will come with a 6-speed manual gearbox, although a dual-clutch automatic called EDC will be available on the dCi 110 version only.

The XMOD will cost €23,250 in our country, but with the brand’s promotions and discounts it will drop to €21,150, a discount of €2,100 on the Expression Energy TCe 115 version.
