The automotive partnership between the Austrian energy drink company Red Bull and Renault is bearing fruit. First came the Clio RS RB7, and now, drawing inspiration from its Formula 1 successes, comes the Twingo RS RB7, a city car with a sporty character created to celebrate the last world title won by three-time champion Sebastian Vettel.

Unlike the production model, this Twingo RS RB7 features black as its main colour, with yellow used to contrast the front and rear spoilers and the wing mirrors. The 17-inch alloy wheels are also specific to this version.

A “Cup” chassis developed by Renault Sport with suspension lowered by 10mm, a sports steering wheel in two-tone finish, the RS Monitor system, an integrated sound system, specific upholstery and exclusive floor mats are its defining features.

Under the bonnet we find the same 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engine fitted to the standard Twingo RS. This engine delivers 133 CV of power at 6,750 rpm, and together with its low weight it provides performance above expectations. Its top speed exceeds 200 km/h, and it completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in a mere 8.7 seconds. Consumption is rated at 6.7 l/100 km, a good figure considering it still uses the outdated indirect injection system.

As for pricing, the French brand has not yet announced anything, but we know it will be sold in several European countries, though not Spain, and in Japan.
