Repsol opens four ultra-rapid charging points in the Community of Madrid

Charging infrastructure remains the stumbling block when deciding whether to opt for one of these vehicles in many countries, including Spain, where charging points are concentrated in the big cities and their surroundings as well as in the most tourist areas. Despite this, these points continue to grow thanks to companies such as Repsol, which are betting heavily on increasing them.

In this regard, it is worth noting that Repsol has more than 370 operational points in its public charging network, of which 100 are ultra-rapid charging points located mostly at the company’s own service station facilities. Thanks to this work carried out by Repsol, the company stands as the leader in Spain in fast charging points at service stations in our country.

Repsol has now inaugurated a new ultra-rapid charging facility for electric vehicles, located at the service station the company has at kilometre 49 of the A-1 at the height of Venturada in Madrid. This facility is part of the European E-VIA FLEX-E project, which aims to establish a pilot network of 14 installations of similar characteristics along a European transport corridor through Spain, France and Italy.

This facility has four charging points of 350 kW each, which will allow users of these points to charge their electric vehicle in roughly five to ten minutes, bringing the “refuelling” time closer to what it takes to fill a fuel tank. In addition, users can make use of this ultra-rapid charging point with complete peace of mind, since it has the standard connectors established by the European Union, namely the CCS-Combo connector and the CHAdeMO connector; besides receiving 100% renewable-source electricity and ensuring the optimal distribution of power among the four points if four vehicles are connected at the same time.

With this new ultra-rapid charging station in Venturada, the Spanish company now adds its third installation of these characteristics, as it previously inaugurated in 2019 two other stations of similar characteristics on the N-I at Lopidana (Álava) and on the A-8 motorway at Ugaldebieta (Biscay).
