The Rolls-Royce Ghost range expands with the new Extended version, a concept similar to the Phantom Extended, for extra space in the rear seats

As a true luxury saloon, the Rolls-Royce Ghost focuses on offering greater comfort, mainly in the rear seats, while a chauffeur takes care of driving our vehicle. Prospective Ghost customers were asking the British brand for more space and comfort in the rear seats, something it has now made a reality with the new Extended version that will be added to the catalogue of the recently updated Rolls-Royce Ghost.

Future owners of the new Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended will enjoy 170 extra millimetres compared with the standard Ghost, but beware: at first glance it will seem we are looking at a standard Rolls-Royce Ghost. This is because the brand’s engineers and designers have worked very hard to conceal this extra length, which they have achieved by extending the bodywork and the rear doors around the rear door openings, so that the lines of the Ghost remain unaltered.

Naturally, with the added comfort, the new Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended will feature improved rear seats, so that for the first time on this model it will be possible to choose reclining Serenity seats, much like in a private jet. Also taking these jets, aimed mainly at business people, as a reference, what better way to celebrate a deal than with bottles of champagne kept in advance in the fridge now located between the two rear seats. Consider the level of detail Rolls-Royce consulted experts on, namely the ideal temperature for vintage and non-vintage champagne, which is why this fridge works on two temperature levels to keep each type of champagne at the perfect temperature.

On top of all this, the new Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended will be equipped with a new environmental purification system, which works through sensors that detect impurities and air quality and is able to draw in fresh air in recirculation mode and, if that quality is unacceptable, a filter removes virtually all impurities from the air in under two minutes. Naturally this is only a small part, since the Ghost Extended benefits from all of the brand’s cutting-edge technologies, all within a luxurious environment surrounded by materials and craftsmanship techniques within reach of very few.

In the mechanical section there are no surprises: the Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended will continue to be powered by the 6.75-litre V12 engine, delivering 571 CV of power together with 850 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends the torque to all four wheels thanks to permanent all-wheel drive. It should be said that, inside the Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended, passengers will hear the engine’s hum even less, thanks to the 100 kg of added sound-deadening materials that keep the cabin tranquil.
