Rolls-Royce presents a new one-off based on the Phantom, inspired by the beautiful villages of Cinque Terre on the Italian Riviera

Rolls Royce Phantom Cinque Terre (12)

The Cinque Terre, or “Five Lands” in English, is a region of the beautiful Italian Riviera comprising the picturesque villages of Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. These villages are world-renowned for their beauty, set on steep cliffside terrain, which has not prevented the local population from cultivating vineyards on their land that produce a highly prized variety of wine.

Every year, thousands of people visit this region of Italy and fall in love with its beauty, just as this client of Rolls-Royce did. He wanted to capture the beauty of this Italian region in his Phantom and create a work of art, quite literally one of a kind in the world, through this one-off, which he has named “inspired by Cinque Terre”.

The exterior of this very special Phantom may not draw too much attention, nor does it need to, except for its deep blue paint Ligurian Blue, which is further contrasted by a double hand-painted detail line in the blue shades Navy Blue and Jasmine Blue. The only exterior detail that will tell you you’re looking at the Phantom inspired by Cinque Terre is the subtle motif of a bunch of grapes.

As expected in a one-off by Rolls-Royce, the best, or rather the most spectacular, is found inside. The entire interior has been upholstered in Grace White and Navy Blue leather with Jasmine Blue accents, and to this is added an embroidered detail on the rear doors which, paying attention to the detail, consists of 9,215 stitches made using two different techniques: the bunch of grapes is embroidered in a satin stitch whose threads have been aligned so that, depending on how light strikes them, each grape takes on a realistic and glossy tone; while the vine leaf is embroidered in a flatter tatami stitch, which gives it a certain texture to enhance the embroidery.

Next, the spectacular Starlight roof, on which a map of Italy embroidered with 14,338 individual stitches has been recreated, is finished with five LEDs as bright stars representing the five villages that make up Cinque Terre. Finally, we move to the front, where the dashboard holds a work of art: a representation that unites the five villages, first created digitally and then transferred to the Phantom with water-based acrylic paint finished with multiple layers of clear lacquer. Additionally, inside the glovebox there is a silver engraving depicting the five villages.

The final touch comes from exclusive picnic tables created for the Rolls-Royce Phantom inspired by Cinque Terre, made of stainless steel and gold-plated, and featuring the grape bunch motif as an inlay.
