Saab resigns itself to waiting for Chinese investment, which has yet to arrive

In recent days it has been impossible not to have at least one item of news about Saab in our news feeds. The Swedish company has entered a holding pattern that could wear out the few nerves left both among the brand’s workers and among its own creditors.

And the news is that there is none. According to a Saab spokesperson, they are waiting for money from Chinese investors. The problem is that almost a month has already passed since Saab was placed under the protection of the Swedish government, and the money simply has not arrived. It was expected that this influx of funds would arrive just 15 days after Saab came under the protective wing of the courts.

Saab reports that the process is ongoing and that the good news will be announced as soon as it happens, which seems likely to be within a few days.

Of course, Saab is presumably supposed to have an alternative plan in case this money never arrives, because otherwise, I fear that the wolves will be let loose and little will remain of the historic brand.
