Škoda Fabia RS Rally2: the more than 600-time champion gets an update with the ‘Packet 25’

Faster, more reliable and more comfortable: the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 receives a key update with the ‘Packet 25’ and aims for success in the WRC2 and beyond

Since its launch in 2022, the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 has proven to be a true dominator in the Rally2 category. With more than 1,800 entries and over 600 podium finishes worldwide, the Czech model has become a benchmark in competitions such as the WRC2, the FIA European Rally Championship and the Spanish Rally Supercampeonato (S-CER), among others.

To maintain its competitive edge, Škoda Motorsport has developed the ‘Packet 25’, a comprehensive update that improves the vehicle’s performance, reliability and comfort. These updates have been conceived thanks to the collaboration of 12 rally drivers and tested over more than 4,000 kilometres in extreme conditions. This package ensures that the Fabia RS Rally2 remains a benchmark in its category.

Among the most notable improvements, the new optimised exhaust system reduces by 27% the energy required for gas exchange in the cylinder, which translates into greater efficiency and power. In addition, a revised engine management software allows for more precise and effective power delivery.

The package also introduces improvements to the suspension and braking system. The Tierra shock absorbers have been redesigned to withstand higher loads without compromising their durability, while modifications to the driveshaft, brake calipers and cooling ducts optimise strength and extend the service life of the components, reducing maintenance costs.

In terms of comfort, the cabin of the Fabia RS Rally2 has also been the subject of innovations. A new roof vent improves air circulation and prevents water ingress, ensuring better conditions for driver and co-driver. In addition, the new competition seats, which are approximately 2 kg lighter each, contribute to a lower centre of gravity, favouring the car’s performance on the most demanding stages.

Since the introduction of the Rally2 category in 2015, Škoda Motorsport has been one of the most successful brands, with more than 25,000 entries and 7,000 podium finishes worldwide. With more than 150 units sold, the Fabia RS Rally2 has won numerous titles in various national and international championships, including the victories of José Antonio Suárez and Alberto Iglesias in Spain.

Michal Hrabánek, director of Škoda Motorsport, underlines the team’s commitment to the continuous evolution of the car: “The work on a successful rally car never ends. We constantly strive to keep the Fabia RS Rally2 at the top, and the ‘Packet 25’ is the result of that ongoing effort.”

The ‘Packet 25’ updates are available both to new buyers of the Fabia RS Rally2 and to current owners.
