Elroq Skoda Electric Cars Compact SUV
Škoda shows some details about the interior of its upcoming electric SUV, the Elroq
Škoda will announce tomorrow the brand’s first fully electric compact SUV at its Annual Press Conference, and it is expected to be one of the Czech brand’s biggest successes this year

Škoda Auto, the Czech carmaker, has everything ready to unveil a model that everything suggests will be one of the most important launches of the year. Tomorrow, Friday 15 March, Škoda will fully reveal a fully electric compact SUV that they have decided to name Elroq. This model can be considered a preview of the brand’s future plans to electrify its fleet and offer sustainable solutions.
We already got a brief preview of its exterior design among the shadows, which surprised us all: it was a completely new design that had nothing to do with previous Škoda models, such as the Kodiaq or the Enyaq, for example. Now, with this new model, the brand has decided to offer zero-emission alternatives as well as equipping this model with the corresponding technology.

In this small preview of its interior, we could not observe any similarity to models previously launched by the brand. It features a digital instrument cluster with a quite slim screen that appears to float. In the centre of the dashboard sits the multimedia screen, or infotainment screen, with a rectangular shape and, as expected, quite good quality. Physical buttons or Smart dials disappear, but some buttons remain just below the screen, such as the warning, traction control, drive mode selector, etc.
The dashboard features a thin illuminated line suggesting that ambient colours can be changed and personalised to taste. A “padded” upholstery, we might say, is also visible across the entire dashboard, with matching red stitching. Below the physical buttons I mentioned, we would find a small space to place our smartphone. It would be strange for a car in these conditions, with the technology we expect, not to have a charger and wireless connection for smartphones.

One last detail worth highlighting is clearly visible on the steering wheel: once again we find a completely new design from Škoda, with two single spokes and a third spoke that does not quite connect with the central hub of the wheel. This model is expected to enter production at the end of the year and will even compete with models such as the CUPRA Born or the Volkswagen ID.3.
