smart ForFour Crosstown, adventurous spirit for the ultimate city car
The smart ForFour range is expanded with the arrival of a new trim level called CrossTown, with a more adventurous and rugged style.

The current smart range consists of two models, the ForTwo and the reborn ForFour, both with numerous variants and engine options.
Now the German brand is launching a new edition of the ForFour called CrossTown, with a more rugged and adventurous style.
The ForFour, like the ForTwo, has been developed for this new generation in collaboration with Renault-Nissan, which in turn has its own model, namely the Renault Twingo. The smarts nevertheless retain their basic characteristics, with the engine and rear-wheel drive.
The current ForFour range, aimed at more family-oriented and practical use than the ForTwo, stands out for the presence of several trim levels as well as two engines. However, the star of the range is the newcomer ForFour Electric Drive, a 100% electric model with just over 150 km of range, which we tested a few weeks ago.

Now a new trim level called CrossTown is being launched, which deepens the adventurous and family qualities of the model. The changes are, in fact, purely cosmetic, but sufficient to substantially change the model’s image compared with its siblings in the range.
Notable examples include new bumpers, with the lower section finished with a moulding that imitates off-road protection although it is still just that, an imitation. A very similar moulding is also found on the sides, with well-defined sill protectors. The greatest peculiarity of this new styling is that most of the pieces can be fitted and removed quickly without the need for tools.

Mechanically, this edition will only be available with the most powerful engine in the range, a 0.9 turbo three-cylinder inline unit producing 90 CV. Standard with a 5-speed manual gearbox, buyers can also opt for the new Twinamic automatic gearbox, a dual-clutch unit with 6 ratios.
No details are yet known about the sale of this very special smart, so it is unclear whether a specific number of units will reach our country or whether it will instead be sold for a set period of time.
