Smart ForTwo Cabrio Electric Drive, an ideal companion for summer

In summer it is pleasant to travel with the top down, enjoying the sun and the air freely. In short, you feel like enjoying a convertible. And if it is also an electric car, all the better, as the experience doubles and is much better. The small smart ForTwo Cabrio Electric Drive is the fourth generation of this urban model, which uses electricity as fuel to get around the city streets and, with a removable soft top, keeps you a bit cooler.

It is still a smart, which means it remains very practical for the city, with a turning circle of 6.95 metres, identical to that of its combustion-engined sibling. Aesthetically, it keeps all the brand’s hallmarks and can be easily personalised, creating a model that is not only practical but also very personal.

An optional package exclusive to the electric model is also available, offering a more dynamic look, thanks to the Electric Green bodywork colour, which enhances its greener and more pleasant appearance. In addition, it features a touch of BRABUS in its aerodynamics, making it not only an attractive car but also a functional one with very worthwhile characteristics for this equipment.

Inside, there is an additional instrument cluster showing the state of charge and power output. It also has the optional Cool&Audio packages and a heated steering wheel for winter driving. As for the engine, it has an electric motor producing 60 kW, equivalent to 81 CV, powered by electricity stored in a 17.6 kWh battery, giving a range of around 155 km of urban driving.

As for charging, the time needed to reach 80% of battery capacity has been considerably reduced to 3.5 hours. From spring 2018, a fast charger will be available that will cut that time to 45 minutes, making it a very practical car for city travel.

The smart ForTwo Cabrio Electric Drive has a price in Spain of 26,732.53 euros, although thanks to discounts and the MOVEA plan it will drop to around 21,232.53 euros, a fairly attractive price.
