Special Stage: Alfa Romeo Giulietta GLP

Last October we attended the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, but with a different, Italian companion. On the way to Frankfurt, and with the collaboration of Alfa Romeo Spain, we got to test the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
We knew the route would be long, in total more than 5,500 km across a route passing through 8 countries (many of them small), different types of roads (from village roads to the famous Autobahn), many bends, and one premise: spend as little as possible. Our travel companion was therefore the Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.4 Turbo GLP with 120 CV.

Over the coming days on Highmotor we are going to tell you everything about the Giulietta GLP and the route we took to test it. It is the first time we have tested a turbocharged petrol engine running on LPG, and the result has won us over.
Route: We left from Madrid, crossed the south of France, continued through Monaco, passed through Milan and entered Switzerland through the Alps to reach Liechtenstein. After the stop in Frankfurt, the route continued towards Paris (via Luxembourg and Belgium), and the end point was Brittany and Bordeaux.

The types of roads and landscapes have been very varied, we tested the Giulietta on sunny days and heavy rain, on straight stretches and on roads full of bends where we could test the DNA and get the most out of the 120 CV petrol engine.
In this test we had the chance to test the Alfa Romeo Giulietta thoroughly, to analyse how it works on LPG and the savings this entails. So if you want to get to know the Giulietta in depth or simply discover new places without leaving home, don’t miss this test.
Follow our website and over six articles we will tell you about the day-to-day of our route!
