Spy photos of a Hyundai MPV: the HED-5 or the HED-6?
KGP’s spy photographers have been stalking several Hyundai test cars in the North American desert (it seems that’s where) and have brought us these images of a car that appears to be the Hyundai HED-5, or perhaps the HED-6, wearing heavy camouflage.
Perhaps nobody remembers anymore that a couple of years ago, Hyundai showed us a concept prototype at the Geneva show, plus another sketch they dubbed HED-6 that was supposedly going to replace the Tucson this year.
According to Inside Line, this model will debut with the new-generation 2-liter turbo GDI engine producing 268 CV. Returning to the prototype, on that occasion the HED-5 was equipped with a 2.2-liter turbocharged engine. And if we make a visual comparison between the camouflaged model and the prototype, there are few things they have in common. As almost always happens, bringing a model to production exactly as shown at the shows is quite unlikely.
At this point, with the Korean brand gaining more and more value in the car world, they are not going to miss the opportunity to attack a segment that few have explored yet: that of MPVs. That said, I’m curious to know which other Hyundai and Kia models were being tested in the area.
