Spy photos of the new Renault Mégane CC

Few variants remain to be revealed from the new Renault Mégane III range. First came the five-door Mégane and the coupé, and later the estate version of the Mégane III arrived. The Fluence was recently unveiled, which is the saloon version of the Mégane III, and now only the convertible version of the Mégane was missing.

According to the spy photos, and as has since leaked, the convertible version of the Mégane will not be based on the five-door Mégane or the coupé, but will be based on the Renault Fluence (which makes sense given the shared platform). We were expecting the Renault Mégane CC for Frankfurt, but Renault has decided to delay it, and we will possibly see it at the Geneva Motor Show.

As for the engine range, it will be the same as that used in the Mégane III range, but three new engines are expected: a diesel, a petrol and a bioethanol unit. For now, judging by the photos, the Mégane CC is still in the development stage, so we will have to wait a few months to learn more details.
