Stellantis produced more than 500,000 vehicles in Spain in 2023
It seems that electrification is becoming an increasingly important part of our everyday lives. An example of this is the rise in production and sales experienced by the Stellantis group

Stellantis continues to advance by leaps and bounds in the Spanish automotive industry. The company has managed to reach production of 517,335 vehicles during the first half of 2023, once again positioning itself as the absolute leader in the sector. These impressive figures are the result of its three plants located across Spain, in the cities of Madrid, Vigo and Zaragoza, from which 39.3% of all vehicles produced in the country have come, according to data from ANFAC.
An even more significant achievement is that Stellantis has established itself as the leader in electric vehicle production in Spain, manufacturing 80,641 units over the same period. This figure represents an astonishing 89.7% of total electric vehicle production in our country.

Dare Forward 2030, Stellantis’s ambitious strategic plan, continues on its path towards electrification by establishing self-consumption electricity projects such as photovoltaic parks. In Spain, Stellantis is the only manufacturer producing fully electric passenger cars at all three of its plants.
Madrid, Vigo and Zaragoza, the engines of Stellantis
In particular, Stellantis Madrid has achieved great success with the Citroën C4 and C4 X, as well as their electric versions, which are produced exclusively worldwide. In the first half of 2023, these models accounted for 33% of production at the Madrid plant, with a total of 52,669 units.

On the other hand, Stellantis Vigo has stood out for its 275,543 vehicles produced during the first five months of the year. This achievement is largely due to the group’s leadership in the light commercial vehicle segment and the growing demand for the Peugeot 2008 in the main European markets. In addition, the Peugeot e-2008 has proven to be the most produced vehicle at the Galician plant, representing 15.8% of total production of this model.
As for the light and multipurpose commercial vehicles of the Citroën, Fiat, Opel and Peugeot brands manufactured in Vigo, 17.5% of them are electric versions, which translates into good figures for their electrification process.

The Stellantis plant in Zaragoza has also played an important role in Stellantis’s figures, with the production of 189,123 vehicles during the first half of 2023. This plant exclusively manufactures for the global market the Opel Corsa, together with its electric version, the Opel Corsa-e, which represents 14% of the Corsas manufactured in the same period. In addition, the popular SUVs Citroën C3 Aircross and Opel Crossland are also assembled in Zaragoza.
