With the arrival of warm weather, good weather and, above all, the long-awaited holidays, the safety programme backed by numerous European governments and manufacturers has published a list of summer cars with five Euro NCAP stars, but be careful, it is also worth remembering that there are models with a poor Euro NCAP rating.

The cars with five Euro NCAP stars this June include the Tesla Model 3, the Skoda Scala, the Mercedes-Benz Class B and the Mercedes-Benz GLE, while the Kia Ceed and the DS 3 Crossback scored four stars in their base versions but achieved the fifth with the optional safety package that both models offer.

Tesla Model 3 with five Euro NCAP stars

The Tesla Model 3 earns five Euro NCAP stars and takes the podium in these July tests. The company’s affordable model made its debut in the tests with a perfect score in the frontal offset deformable barrier crash test, a cornerstone of Euro NCAP’s assessment since its beginnings in 1997.

Its performance in the Safety Assist tests was particularly impressive, thanks to its excellent driver assistance systems, such as the lane-keeping assistant, the speed assistant and the autonomous emergency braking system. Skoda Scala, with five Euro NCAP stars

Another newcomer among the top three models to earn five Euro NCAP stars on this occasion is the new Skoda Scala. This model has become one of consumers’ favourites and scored 97% in the overall crash performance, specifically in Adult Occupant Protection.

This places the Skoda Scala among the best compact family cars tested by Euro NCAP.

Mercedes-Benz Class B and Mercedes-Benz GLE, third and fourth in the Euro NCAP tests

The German brand has taken third and fourth place on the list of summer cars with five Euro NCAP stars, specifically the Mercedes-Benz Class B and the Mercedes-Benz GLE. These results only underline the reputation of the star brand when it comes to safety, something non-negotiable for Mercedes-Benz.

Kia Ceed and DS 3 Crossback, four stars with the option of five

Prospective buyers of the KIA Ceed and the DS 3 Crossback should check the optional equipment offered at dealerships, since in the Euro NCAP tests, the standard versions only achieved four stars.
