Suzuki Jimny Twisted: a version that elevates the features of the legendary off-roader

The British tuner has worked on this model to equip it with more complete and attractive features for British and European users.

The Suzuki Jimny has had a bumpy road in Europe in recent years. It had to be withdrawn from the market because it could not meet emissions requirements in European territory, so it had to undergo modifications to return. It is now sold with only two seats, to qualify as a commercial vehicle and comply with European requirements. But the customiser Twisted has worked on this model and has given it new life.

Twisted usually focuses on working on units of the Land Rover Defender, so it is a novelty to look at this model to give it new features. The result can already be seen and, of course, it turns out to be very interesting. With its work, it has offered a more complete interior and several mechanical improvements.

On the exterior, work has been done to offer a very subtle change of image. It remains a Jimny and, except for some aesthetic details, it stays almost the same. Exclusive Twisted vinyls give it a distinctive look. There are also 16-inch wheels designed by Twisted to emphasise the aesthetic change. These, painted in satin black, fit BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres measuring 215 mm. In addition, the exterior mirrors are offered in the same colour as the bodywork.

The customised interior

In the interior, the differences are more visible. The first thing noticed is the change in upholstery, which has been replaced with brown and black leather. It is present on the seats, the door panels, the steering wheel, the gear lever and the mechanical handbrake cover.

It also features a new touchscreen, which allows control of the information and entertainment system. It has Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and digital radio connectivity. An optional roof rack has been fitted, improving the model’s carrying capacity.

Changes to the chassis and engine

The chassis has been improved and this improves the driver’s experience behind the wheel. An adjustable sports suspension has been added, along with a rear anti-roll bar, which provides greater stability and more engaging handling on demanding terrain.

As for the engine, this is where we find a substantial difference. The 1.5-litre engine of the Jimny produces a maximum output of 102 CV, but with the changes offered in this update, this is raised to 165 CV. To achieve this, a turbo and a new engine control unit have been added.

With all these changes, the Suzuki Jimny Twisted has a price of 49,500 pounds, which equates, depending on the exchange rate, to around 60,000 euros.
